For preserving the least toxic and most culturally relevant Tumblr heritage posts.

Image descriptions and plain text captions of written content are expected of all screenshots. Here are some image text extractors (I looked these up quick and will gladly take FOSS recommendations):

-web

Please begin copied raw text posts (lacking a screenshot that makes it apparent it is from Tumblr) with:

One thing that annoys me about lemmy is that images are always shrunk down to a certain size limit, then there's no way to expand them without opening the image in a new tab.

Working fine for me in Voyager, Thunder, Connect and Boost.

Jerboa had a funny aneurysm, though, is that the client you're using?

Desktop website. The images are there, but there's no way to expand. In particular, the main post image (rather than the ones in the post text) never expands right.

Hopefully the new UI's that people are making (shout out to /u/[email protected] with his next-ui) will fix some of these issues.

Desktop

Install imagus-- it lets you mouse over images and they'll expand. Has some zoom options etc

Looks like a good extension, but I still think lemmy should have better native support. In general, more features from RES need to make their way over.

And they're not linked, to make that a one-click affair.

Yeah that's a bit of a faff, you need a nested link command I think.

All in all Lemmy just needs to support it better natively.
