I installed it over the weekend and so far it's working great! I'm using Wayland with my AMD GPU, and the only hiccup I had was I needed to change my shell to bash (I use fish), which is fine since I have Konsole set to use fish as well.

Have you used KDE Plasma 6 yet? Thoughts?

Upgraded, too. KWin Scripts apparently had a breaking change in their API, so that unfortunately killed my usual workflow.

Aside from that, the upgrade was smooth. I'm still figuring out all the places where they've tweaked things, but so far, no revolutionary changes (which is perfectly fine).

So far the main things I've noticed are:

  • Wayland is actually stable
  • change to keyboard layout switching (hotkey seems to actually work)
  • GNOME-style "view all windows" hot corner
  • Konsole settings are a bit different

So relatively minor things so far, so I'm happy. I've been on GNOME the last 6 months or so for Wayland, and coming back feels nice.
