Mad God was fucking nuts. I’d put off watching it until now but couldn’t look away tonight. I think the Drive-In breaks every 20m or so helped from feeling overwhelmed by all the WTF. Tippett is a trip.
I was skeptical of animation night but they killed it. Perfect Blue was great and Darcy’s cosplay was among her best. The only negative was missing the first 10m because Shudder still doesn’t have their shit together.
4 stars.
I felt the same. I was expecting to appreciate the movies and get the usual deep dive, but I wasn't expecting to be as all-in as I was. Mad God had me fully engrossed! Perfect Blue was also top shelf stuff.
And it just wouldn't be Drive-In night without Shudder fucking up. It's been part of the experience since day one. Why mess with perfection, you know?
