My highlights specific to chapter 23:
The fight against the five muppets was a bit anticlimatic, but that's to be expected: Allen was fully prepared for that. As well as to handle the potential consequences of his act, such as expulsion or even death. The actual plot twist only comes near the end, the Ramslett family summoning him.
This is yet another chapter that shows how much the people in the slums like Allen. Specially the folks in the guild, Monica going out of her way to greet Allen and bring some veggies. (Another mouth to feed, right?) But I like the best Allen's interactions with his mum, it shows that they genuinely care about each other, even if Allen likely remembers his parents from his past life.
Chapter 24:
Wow, the LN describes Gerard as a gorilla. It's fitting, the guy towers over Allen-kun. And he is not too eager to mince words, as shown by him asking Allen if he wanted Anna.
Allen's answer was rather sensible - "I'm aware of the difference in our statuses" doesn't put any side down, but it's a polite way to say "I'm not doing it for this reason".
And now he got a dinner with the ojou-sama~
For reference this should be ch44-44.2 of the light novel. I encourage people to read those because, while the story is the same, it's more fleshed out.
