I realized today that I had a a sighting/experience in the early 90s, reawakened my interest around 2016 when I saw what turned to be a meteor made of nickle (green glow, passed low overhead, hissing noise) when I began to recall my sighting, and then 2017 reignited my interest more seriously.
I realized I might not know the truth of this for another 15 or 20 years, if at all. So anyone like Sheehan working in any capacity to figure this out has my gratitude even if I don't necessarily agree with everything they do or say.
Green meteors have an interesting place in UAP history. Project Twinkle set out to research specifically those in the 50s.
I'd be curious how many people have had some form of sighting that is just archived in the back of their mind. I've had my own experiences, though my UAP sighting itself was mundane enough to just get filed away until recent personal events reminded me.
And, I have respect for anyone dedicating a large portion of their lives to disclosure. We still have years ahead of us with getting full disclosure, but I think we're on the right track now.
I was out with my dog in the yard sort of perched on a hill (yard sloped way up) and could not believe what I was seeing and hearing. What really blew my mind is there was no mention of it on local subreddits, etc. It took a couple days of obsessive research to figure out the green fireball sizzling across the sky was prosaic but in researching of course I turned up ufo stuff in my results.
That reawakened my memories of my sighting over a harbour years before in the company of others. Only two of us saw it despite being in a group and the other person was scared to talk about it. She was really freaked out.
I kind of dropped it because the experience was so strange and did not fit any frame of reference. I feel like this is pretty common among people who experience this.
There was definitely some temporary (maybe longer lasting) psychological effect which leads me to think it was more than just me not understanding what I was looking at.
Anyway, not to go on, I just think it's interesting as a pattern (the reawakening of suppressed memory).
The part of my brain that gins up conspiracy theories wonders if the public aspects of disclosure are designed to trigger people into this en masse.
Definitely interesting experiences. My sighting, back in the early 00s, was an unusually bright point of light low in the sky that lingered in place for hours. It seemed too stationary for anything astronomical and stood out from everything else in the sky. It was a fairly rural area, so there wouldn't be that many other witnesses if any at all. I felt drawn to go out to look at it and checked on it throughout the night. Each time I'd find it still in place up through the time I went to bed.
I wouldn't have made much of it other than being an odd sighting, except that I experienced some odd health issues in the days following. Decades later and I just recently got diagnosed with an autonomic disorder of unknown cause and origin. Looking back, that was the earliest episode I could recall. Could be sheer coincidence and, being one for facts, I treat it as so. But, it was an odd occurrence and became one of many to fuel my interest in the subject throughout my life.
And, I do think we'll see a lot more people recalling events in their life that they may now attribute to UAP. It gets tricky there because of how fragile memory can be. However, whatever the experiences may be, they should help fuel public interest in the phenomenon.
Thanks for talking about that. The time scale of "saw something that affected me later" is very drawn out in a lot of cases as I understand it.
I know I have never had an experience like that before or since. Like you, I'm pretty grounded which is why I find that one event to be so significant.
