No reason to be embarrassed. I've been off and on mood stabilizing meds throughout my life. I was fine without them for a number of years, after my condition stabilized. The pan fucked that up and I refused to admit it for months (admitting depression would make it real, I thought).

Got back on an antidepressant and holy shit, the world changed. I'm able to be happy. I can manage my anxieties. I'm not thinking about all the terrible shit 24/7.

I have a disorder. I own it. It's part of who I am. I have no shame about that, just as my friends have no shame about being diabetic. Hooray for modern chemistry!
