That's not my religion.

This is my religion.

You kids today with your Paramount Pluses are heretics. HERETICS I SAY!

Gimme some of that old time religion!

TOS - Judaism
TNG - Christianity
DS9 - Islam
Voyager - Baháʼí
NuTrek - Dudeism

(just in case: please nobody be offended, this is a joke about the evolution of religion based on time)

Real Star Trek fans know that, according to TOS, the Greek gods are literally canonically real, and at least one of them got bored and just flew away to be ruler of his own planet.

Trek/SG1 crossover when?

As an ordained Dudist Priest, I agree.

Battlestar Galactica - Hinduism
Star Wars - Freemasonry

Battlestar Galactica should surly be Mormonism

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I don't know anything about Battlestar Galactica, except that it's a series I was never interested in as it just looks like a never ending war similar to Star Wars, which I was also mildly interested in for the same reason.

But after having a quick look at the wikipedia article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar_Galactica

You are probably right, it should be Mormonism ... I never knew that series was partially influenced by an actual real world religion.

The original series in the 1970s leaned more into Mormon cosmology. The more recent version didn't do that as much, so it's harder to tell.

The remake being attached to Trek with the creator being annoyed at VOY and leaving to make his own show still kinda fits the Mormon thing with the above chart, though.

At least the TOS Church of Trek ... we can eat a Diet of Klingon Worms

The Orville - Pastafarianism
Galaxy Quest - Rastafarianism

Galaxy Quest - Rastafarianism

For Tony Shahloub anyway...

Stargate SG-1 – Murica!

Lower Decks = Pastafarianism? /s

[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago

That might work better?

Thinking on this, DS9 as Islam works chronologically, but it's more like Heaven's Gate or Jonestown practically.

Didn't a prophet chosen by the divine lead them to victory in war?

DS9 has all sorts of complications that could fit any number of things I think (Bajorans/Prophets, Maquis, Founders, Jem'Hadar, Dominion, etc).

As a Red Sea Pedestrian myself, I approve.

I legitimately think Baha'is would agree with this
