They must have asked the execs "if they're just interpretation friendship rings, can we add them back into more shots for the bluray?" followed by a "these old fucks are never going to read the commentary heh"
either that or they just asked a different less homophobic guy at bandai who was on the same level as whoever shut down the last one. i think there's gotta be so much departmental politics going on behind the scenes of this stuff
