Unfortunately, no specific release date was revealed at Jump Festa, but Chainsaw Man fans can already start preparing for a new wave of thrills and bloody surprises. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting second season of Chainsaw Man!

i wonder who is going to direct the movie now that the original director for Season 1 left MAPPA

I honestly really liked season 1. It had its own charm and delivered on my expectations. Sad the fans just bullied the director.

I still don't understand why some people hated it so much.

People turned on it when MAPPA got busted again for horrible working conditions I think. I also kinda think it ended before the signature Chainsaw Man batshit crazy moments happened, so people didn't get that yet.

Nah, a lot of Japanese otaku hated it from the get go. They don't give a shit about working conditions, and even if that was the reason they wouldn't attack the director for it.

The line I've heard is that some domestic japanese fans didn't like that it was done in a more "more serious" style or something. Obviously I disagree, S1 ends with Denji and Aki bonding over kicking a dude in the balls.

i thought it wasn't a very good adaptation. i didn't like most of the fights (not because they used 3dcg but because they had so much less energy than the manga) and i thought the pacing was off. i liked the anime original scenes of the characters going about their daily lives a lot, but outside those the whole thing felt really slow and unsteady compared to the manga, which just moves

the style was so nice and refreshing
