I hate this shit. Whatever is actually going on under the hoods of these models, it's going to be used with a combination of cruelty, greed, and foolish hubris that's going to make the world much, much worse.

Very true. I just found my copy of Weapons of Math Destruction from years ago. Gotta crack it open, though it must be hopelessly out of date now.
