I can't parse that first image. It looks like there is another creature under the human, but I only see part of it as it blends into the left leg.
This is what I'm getting out of it. No idea what the purple bit is.

Yep, that's the confusing bit. I have that bit with the polka-dot bit as the chest/body and forelegs of a deer like creature.
Medieval furry artists were still learning anatomy I guess.
Oh, I think its facing away or to the right of frame looking over his right shoulder and the purple bit is his tail. I think it makes sense that way.
