By this, I mean either an author you love despite their shortcomings (ie "guilty pleasure"), or an author who you know is a terrible person which causes you to not be able to look away in fascination (ie "hate-read"), or an author who you know is terrible but despite this you're like, damn, their writing is still excellent (ie "your fav is problematic.") What makes them terrible, and what makes you like them anyway?

I’ll say it: I enjoy Dan Brown books. Digital Fortress and Da Vinci Code were my favs. It’s like the junk food of books to me. I know what to expect and that I’ll enjoy them.

I haven't read any Dan Brown, but there's something so comforting about reading a new story you know you will enjoy!
