It depends on your instance I believe. I'm on Lemmy.ml, and while it does let me upload on posts, I gotta brute force it at times
Yeah, it wasn't probably the best idea to pick randomly but oh well, can't switch now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can switch instances but you won't actually migrate the account and, instead, you'll have to make a new one from scratch. Hopefully in the future Lemmy will have account migration to other instances.
