Right to Repair/Ownership

Whether it be electronics, automobiles or medical equipment, the manufacturers should not be able to horde "oem" parts, render your stuff useless if you repair it with aftermarket parts, or hide schematics of their products.

Finally upgraded my phone - no, that doesn't mean a new one. No need to spend hundreds just for some extra storage, or to give up my data to some dodgy cloud where I have no control over it (lemmy.world)

Honestly, if we could upgrade the RAM in phones, I'd probably be fine with this one for a decade. (Or until they start making phones with qwerty keypads again.)

There's a lot of fake SD cards on the market, worth checking it before putting anything important on it. I find that if you can put more than eight gig of data on it without it getting corrupted then it's probably real

There's an Windows executable your can use to check, it does the writing and read checking for you. H2 something iirc.
