All new ANON wallets will now be created using Polyseed. Note that legacy seed restore is still supported, and you can convert your Polyseed to legacy at anytime.
Polyseed is Monero's new mnemonic seed upgrade that will be part of the Seraphis/Jamtis hardfork. The main benefits are:
- 16 mnemonic words (36% shorter than the original 25-word seed)
- embedded wallet birthday to optimize restoring from the seed
- supports encryption by a passphrase
