The browser extension is proprietary? Wtf? I remember pointing it at my own languagetool http server (ran on my own machine) half a year ago.
In fact, because there was no option to disable languagetool per site, I would simply not run the server when I didn't want it to spellcheck lol.
I have a policy to never install any non open source browser extensions, and I assumed it was open source because languagetool is open source.
But if the extension actually isn't open, nothing stops them from removing features like using your own server, and/or enshittifying. Glad I stopped long ago.
Is there a proper open source languagetool browser extension?
