Kevin Afghani announced he’s taken over the plunger from Mario’s voice actor for over 25 years, Charles Martinet.

He's a pretty decent drop-in replacement. I thought for sure I'd notice a difference from the promo video at the end of the article. Even though there is a minor difference, it's so negligible you could easily just pretend Charles had a cold in the booth.

It's a lot better than the Sonic Voice Actor fiasco Sega has had.

Unfortunately, it seems Wario got the short end of the stick. Wario's voice in the new WarioWare trailer is very noticeably different.

I miss the Mario Kart 64 Wario. Never was a fan of the deeper voice in later games.

Same goes for Toad. Bring back the MK64 Toad. I'm tired of the two-packs-a-day Toad we have now.

Oh yeah, you're right. I'm sure it will get better with time, or we'll just get used to it.

Roger Craig Smith's initial voice for Sonic in Promos was awful, but it was serviceable by the time the first game came out.

I don't think Roger Craig Smith is bad, and I think it works well for the modern Boost era. Being said, Ryan Drummond will always be my Sonic.

Sonic has the benefit of having a lot of good voice actors throughout the years, so when a new one comes along they can fit in just fine. Notice how people just accepted Deven mack very easily because they're like "oh he's sort of like Roger Craig Smith and Jason Griffith".
