This community is a central space for makers and creators of all types. Woodworking is just as welcome as 3d printing, welding can go alongside programming robots run by micro controllers.
"Look what I made" is welcome, as is "This is how to make it".
The important thing is to create something, and get inspired by other people's creations.
Keep it civil and uplifting.

How much of the inside of the box will be visible? You could mount the box to the top of a hard hat, or if it’s really light you could use foam to secure it to a baseball cap with the brim removed.
Whatever you do, make sure it has adequate ventilation. Nothing will make you feel uncomfortably hot like having no airflow across your head/neck area.
All of the interior will be visible - the purpose is to make a 2 dimensional frame for my face, so don't even need the rest of the box if I can figure out how to suspend the frame
No, what was I thinking? My first thought (second) would be to just get a hard hat and take the inner part out and fix the frame to it.
My first thought would be to get some plexi and make a shoulder harness with a small weight on the back to counter the weight of the frame so it doesn’t slip too far downward.
Say more about shoulder harness? I think that's what I'm looking for...
Like what marching bands use for bass drums, but with different mounting points and counterweight.
Thanks for the suggestion!
One year I went as a kelp forest, with helium balloons holding up the kelp. God Damn helium balloons are insulating!
