Your comment is very similar to what is felt by many MLS fans out there, including me. We love watching our league, not just our team.
However, the ratings for soccer fans overall in the US dwarf those of MLS fans. Most fans are either ONLY fans of their specific team plus European leagues, or are casual fans who just want to watch a game or two per week. Those two groups of fans want a consistent time slot where they can be sure there's a game on. People who go to games in person also want a consistent time slot for games so they can plan in advance, but many of them aren't like us and only want to watch their team. I used to be like that, too.
I have watched SO much less MLS this year because of the scheduling than I did last year or in the years before. Apple hasn't released any ratings numbers, so I have no idea how well the scheduling has performed this year.
