First all the bs with Twitter and Elon, then Reddit having an exodus to Lemmy (not complaining lol), then Twitch. Are we like, in an alternate self healing dimension or something?

@notExactlyI20 Also, in the centralized model it only takes a few decisions to tank things. See: Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover and his following decisions and Reddit’s new pricing scheme.

Whats hilarios is that Elon just had to do 1 thing: Nothing. Thats it.

He just had to keep his egotistical mouth shut, and behind the scenes slowly make his changes quietly, maybe even help kill bots.

But he cant do that. His ego wont let him. He had to just go full bore in, literally carrying a kitchen sink in to twitter headquarters and go nuts. Plus hes a man child, changing the sign to say "Titter" i mean hey, as soon as he bought it everyone knew where it was goin.

A function not only of platform centralization, but also of the vast wealth disparity that lets shareholders and people like Elon Musk get so disconnected from reality and from other humans.
