First, congrats! Second, there will be sleepless nights and frustration as you learn how to be a dad. The good news is those will quickly fade from memory to be replaced by warm happy memories. The good heavily outweighs the bad.
I won't lie. It took me a good year and a half to feel "good" about being a dad. Countless nights of total panic wondering if I was being unfair and selfish to that baby by choosing to be his dad, how unfit to be so I was, etc.
Well, now, that baby turned 6 years old a couple weeks back, started 1st grade. We're waiting for 2 of his friends right now for a small belated birthday party. My wife is also pregnant with his little brother, who should join us in the next week or two!
It was hell, it's still pretty hard, but every single second of it was so worth it. If you just let it, parenthood will teach you so much about yourself.
