This game is 100% gold.
The first two times I tried to play it, I could get into it/see what it’s about.
But after I decided to watch a beginner tutorial, I totally got it and got hooked. I think I played 40 hours in just a few weeks.
The game has tons of replay ability, too.
Please give it a try. At the very least, you are supporting generous devs and a good cause.
I have 400+ hours in Terraria and I have no idea why they keep putting it on sale for like $5, it feels unfair lol. Easily worth $25.
Coming up on 1700 hours (30 hours in the past two weeks). Didn't even install mods until after like 1200 hours? I don't think there's an upper limit to how many times you can replay it, especially since they keep making major updates (when I first played it, Golem was the final main boss and Duke Fishron was a sideboss - 1.1 I think?). Surely the next final update will really be the actual final update and definitely no chance of it ending up as a 1.5.
But I get why it can be a bit of a hard sell without large sales given the graphics make it look dated and the only way to appreciate how much the base game has to offer requires playing at least 10's of hours, if not 100's.
I remember my brother used to tell me that because the game was pixel art it was "old" and I should play a real game like CSGO since it has realistic graphics. I could never convince him that pixel art is a thing people do
I’ll have to see what’s been added since I played. I guess it was like 2 years ago now.
Maybe the moon boss was just added. Not sure.
I think I got it first on PS+, but now have it on PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Switch, and PC. I haven't tried mods yet, but I'll get around to calamity at some point. I was not wanting to deal with them, but I tried them with Stardew Valley and enjoyed them a lot. So, I'm actually really interested, but have largely been playing on the Switch lately.
I bought it for $5 like 10 years ago, each couple of years i make a new world to play the newest 'final patch' and every time i am surprised by the amount of content added. This is easily one of the best games ever made, a real live service game.
Is there a similar game but without all the enemies and boss fights lol. I just wanna build stuff, and not fight with flying eyes or whatever.
I’m pretty sure there is this mode built into the game. Maybe it’s called journey mode or something.
Check a wiki to make sure. It’s been a while since I’ve played.
Yea journey mode is dope for building. The cloning thing is dope too. If you collect X number of an item you can turn it into the cloner menu and then just spawn as many as you want from then on. It can be as little as 2 items for common weapons to 100 or 1000 of a common resource like dirt.
The one thing I could never figure out was Hard Mode. Every boss just had a zillion hp and the only way I could kill anything was by creating a purpose-built boss killing room.
Maybe I was just bad at the game, but I didn't like Hard Mode.
On the other hand, I liked the game well enough to 100% what was available in normal mode at the time, so I obviously really enjoyed it and got a lot of play time.
So, agreed! Great game. Great dev.
No idea about her mode, I only played through it twice. Once was a first play through which I sunk a ton of hours into. The second time, I brought all my gear over and just did a boss rush basically.
Never tried hard mode.
That's how I beat plantera for the first time (normal mode) with one friend and we still failed many times before we succeeded. Later found better ways to approach the fight. Grinding for The Axe solo afterwards really helped me get comfortable with that boss. Weirdly consider it one of the easier bosses now just because of how many times I grinded it with near-appropriate equipment.
