Just wanted to say that I love the art on the server error page. It is top notch. The bees knees, even.

P.S. good luck with the server stuff!!!

Call me stubborn if you must but as long as beehaw is playing the maverick part and not willing to be a full and compliant part of the fediverse I just won't raise an eyebrow. Well, not right now at least.

It's not that I'm super-informed and henceforth condemning beehaw or whatever, I just feel like transitioning from bigbroreddit to the fediverse is enough change without betting on the outsider that's whistling their own tune already.

If someone can educate me bringing some food for thought about beehaw I am willing to listen and eventually learn.

While I think your question is valid and I'd also appreciate discussion on that topic, it might make more sense to ask it as its own post instead of commenting on this post regarding the server error page art.

Beehaw said that they blocked some instances like lemmy.world because they were getting lots of trolls and hateful people from those instances, and they don't have the moderation tools to ban each offending account, so their best option was to defederate from those instances.

Beehaw admins did say though that they were willing to refederate, and I believe are working with some of the admins of the other instances to refederate.

But I also believe that the job of the Beehaw devs shouldn't make the platform that is the easiest to migrate too, but instead should be to make the platform that is best for their community.

That's quite informative and reassuring, thanks a lot. It may be what I needed to tilt the scales towards having a look at beehaw.

Seems to be some server weirdness so replying with my alt.

I am rather confused about this reply! To clarify, I unironically find it cute, and was making a light hearted post to comment on it. Did you intend to reply to someone else?

Naye, I was jumping to the general topic of beehaw as I am new to the fediverse and I wanted to confront the slight prejudice I had against beehaw because of its "non-conformity" with other instances. And I did it here because I was sure it would be a post attracting beehaw enthusiasts. Not trolling, just seeking positive answers. @kara had the kindness to reply with enough and relevant information and I stand corrected, which was what I was looking for.
