OP didn't post an image, they posted a link to the page that hosts the image.
That's me I am OP, but when I attempt to actually post an image it gives a syntax error. Any ideas?
My bad, sometimes I am blind to usernames.
Maybe it's an issue with your instance?
And you are just clicking the little photo icon and selecting the file from your device and it just works? Is the image hosted in the instance then? In my case Lemm.ee?
In that post, I typed what that icon generates but used the image's url on imgur.

I think you can edit the original post and change the url to be the imgur image's url.

That's it, the like I posted was missing the filetype '.png' which was causing the error. Thank you!
You might have copied the album link instead of the image. Imgur hides the direct image link so you have to right click the image to get it now.
