Good cycling infrastructure works better than any helmet, if you're cycling with a helmet, don't forget getting involved in trying to make your area more cycle safe, too.

Why can they not wear a helmet without getting involved in politics? What kind of weird take is that?

If you can spare a few hours every week getting involved in a great use of your time. Not just for safer infrastructure. Hold your town accountable in other things.

Most people only care after things happen. People should show up when things are being decided on.

Getting involved in local bike politics is more effective for keeping you safe while biking. Nobody said anything about what people can and cannot do.

No, I expect them to at least go yo the ballot and vote for people who are pro cycling, for example.
