Shouldn't Infinity have the same polish then? I am a Software Engineer (not front-end though) and I'd be fascinated to learn the technical differences.

  1. It's not being developed for that long
  2. It's a different developer who needs to get familiar with the code
  3. He's doing it in his free time unlike the Sync dev

My guess is because it's not the original developer for the app. So they are still figuring things out on how to transition the app to Lemmy.

But I have no doubt they'll get there :)

I'm using infinity and it does have the polish. I don't get the fuss about "tHe OtHeR aPpS dOn'T hAvE tHe sMoOtHnEsS!!1!11!"

I'm juggling between both and Infinity is definitely less polished. From how reliable the gestures are for going back from comments to posts vs downvoting them, to returning to the same position on a post if you back out to go back in, to the general UI options and settings pages.

I have both Sync and Infinity (and Voyager) installed side by side and Infinity takes significantly longer to load.

It's not smoothness but bugs. It's still a alpha
