Strategy games have a ton of communities, one which has been poked recently into living ([email protected]) and many which are dead.

Tbf Real time strategy and turn based strategy are different and could exist separately

RTS and Realtimestrategy are the same ofc

Coming back to the general vs niche community discussion

Aren't those games close enough that a common community could be used at first?

Maybe, but it's still worth keeping both RTS and Turn based strategy on hold for when/if the community grows. I'd argue the optimum scenario is to double-post all strategy-game related posts to a "strategy" parent community, and then post as relevant to RBS/TBS

Would you be willing to do so? The idea about having a general community is to make it easier for potential posters to contribute. As of now, nobody is posting to any of those communities, real time or turn based

Absolutely. They're nothing alike.

I get the need for more generic communities getting bigger before we split out into niches (I say this as a curator for a niche community that could probably be merged into 2-3 others), but RTS and TBS are really very different experiences.
