Platforms should not carry advertise for their competitors so this is fair. This should be an official policy though, not a random removal.
I don't understand why restaurants allow ads for competing restaurants while I'm eating. (they probably don't have a choice, but if I was an owner that would be a reason to remove the screens) Transit operators should not have ads for cars. reddit should not have ads for lemmy.
If your food sucks so much that you have to hide the existence of other restaurants... maybe improve your food to retain customers.
That's anti-competitive monopolistic behavior, not normal. You shouldn't expect me to eat every meal at your restaurant.
