the story really is too 'just so' given the administrations hard media push to publicize victories on the border. should we really just believe the numbers the administration is claiming? did they manage to smuggle 20k people without anyone noticing or taking a bribe to look the other way that entire time? how come this story was released right now and not 2 months ago?
one thing is certain. we'll never find out who their inside connections were that enabled them all this time. someone in CBP? a local sheriff? business owners that exploit labor and facilitated it? someone was helping them and instead of an Americans head rolling, it will always be entirely blame shifted on a dangerous 'illegal'.
real human rights violations are happening on the border and the US has done jack shit in my entire life to address the real causes or offer a reasonable path to citizenship. this article and press release is pure consent manufacturing dogshit from Trump's inside PR team.
