Vampires

"Few creatures of the night have captured our imagination like vampires.
What explains our enduring fascination with vampires? Is it the overtones of sexual lust, power, control? Or is it a fascination with the immortality of the undead?"

Feel free to post any vampire-related content here. I'll be posting various vampire media I enjoy just as a way of kickstarting this community but don't let that stop you from posting something else. I just wanted a place to discuss vampire movies, books, games, etc.

Ok, forget whether it's a "favorite" and just tell me any video game you've played with a vampire protagonist.

There are plenty of games with vampires as enemies but I want more games where I get to be a vampire. Especially games where you can refill your health by drinking an enemy's blood. That's just a fun game mechanic. I think the only games I've played where you can actually drink an enemy's blood is probably Dark and Bloodrayne. I need more.

I love Dawnguard and I credit it as one of the three core pieces of vampire media (the other two being the Darren Shan saga that I read at a much younger age, and Dracula: The Musical, which my school performed around the same time Skyrim came out) that got me into vampires. But tbh, I find the experience of actually playing as a vampire in Skyrim deeply unsatisfying. I never played with Better Vampires though. Skimming through its Nexus page just now, that's a shame. It looks like a pretty good improvement.

What made Dawnguard so excellent IMO wasn't the playable vampire stuff, it was the storyline of the quest, and especially the fact that Serana was basically the only NPC in the game with any semblance of depth to her.
