Resist: It's Time

We are still in this together, but "this" is going to be real different in the very near future. This demands a different kind of "we."

The French Resistance during Nazi occupation played important roles delivering downed Allied airmen back to safety, supplying military intelligence, and acts of sabotage.

The Underground Railroad is estimated to have brought 100,000 freedom seekers to safety between 1810 and 1850.

It's time.

There's a protest planned for today near you. If you'd like to attend below is a bit of info.

Some more media mentions, mostly local and brief:

Every action has a level of risk. Doing nothing is not acceptable.

I see you.

A general strike would be far more effective and safer than people showing up to mass facial recognition scanning event.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I don't see how participating in a general strike would serve to identify you any less than marching.

And every little bit helps. Of course, if you're a person who's comfortable with a higher level of risk which might allow you do take "more subversive" actions, you might be wise to save your efforts for those, and forgo going to a march.

But that's not everyone, and we're not gatekeeping resistance.

Agreed, getting everyone in one spot could help with organizing one. Another comment in this thread has some general opsec suggestions. One is wearing an n95 or similar medical mask, and painting your face in some colored pattern where masks are banned.

Given all the evidence, it would be extremely unwise to attend this event.

The fact that you felt the need to speak as a moderator instead of defeating my claims with the facts and reason you should've had before you supported it should serve as a red flag to for yourself and others.

Looking forward to your ideas of things that should be done.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Looking forward to your explanation of which leftist organization organized this event and how streaming video facilitates operational security.

General strike. Shutdown everything. Economic pain is the only thing that hurts the broligarchy.

Sign up on the strike card only if you trust the organizers on that site, however it is something being talked about on tbe calendar.

I've many ideas. But, it's a red herring that I'll not facilitate.

The topic we're engaging on is that a moderator should be able to explain who organized the event they're supporting and why steaming video does not violate basic operational security.

I'll add that moderators that double down on logical fallacy probably shouldn't be moderators.

"I have many ideas. They live in Canada, you wouldn't know them."

If you don't like it here, nobody is forcing you to be here.

Your best defense of this event is a red herring, to suggest I find my way out and to engage your alt.

That's not good. Not good at all.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Wait, ignoring all of the other stuff, why does protest and action have to be leftist to be legit?

There are other segments protesting, including democrats, who are not leftist.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Here's who's organizing it, from the post.

Don't stream. But you need to explore what revolutionary optimism is.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

After decades engaging theory and praxis, after a half dozen books on the specific topic, after suggesting the core text on the topic to you, I now need to watch some fuckhead's video to explain the basics?

I'm not convinced. Not even a little bit.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

That fuckhead has been organizing for the past 15 years. You're unwilling to do any research outside of what you've read and can reinforce yourself. You weren't aware of this protest before you read it on the news and since you didn't hear it through the grapevine you don't trust it as you cannot control it. You are the very example of a terminally online leftist. Touch grass. There's no conspiracy against you here. And you're getting defensive. You might want to investigate why.

With all your learned reasoning why don't you define in your own words what revolutionary optimism is. I'm not referring to the dua lipa song.

If you're active you're already on a list. Act accordingly.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Operational Security as taught by every leftist group since at least the mid-1800s.

Manufacturing Consent by Herman and Chomsky.

Replace your video with Revolutionary Suicide by Huey P. Newton.

What kind of person would throw nonsense at a user named ReadMoreBooks and expect anything but having circles run around them?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Wow, you are smug. Don't go to the protest my guy. Also, Huey Newton is quoted in that video. Maybe watch the vid before you criticize it. You responded before you could've watched even at the max 2x speed.

You can jail a Revolutionary, but you can't jail the Revolution.

You're the moderator's alt. Objectively the algorithm says the writing styles are a very good match. Subjectively you're engaging the same tactic of introducing a red herring.

I see through you like glass. As soon as you realize that you'll ban me. But, you'll have no satisfaction because, right now, in this thing, I know you better than yourself.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Look at my comment history. I have nothing to do with this moderator. You project like a theater.

Wait, algorithm? What algorithm? Where are you getting all of this?
