haha jokes on you, in pathfinder we can delay our turn
And ready actions in D&D 5E
well in pathfinder 2e you can turn 1 action into a reaction, which is basically the same thing
anyway how does readying actions work in d&d?
Source: PHB, page 193. Available in the SRD and the Basic Rules (2014).
oh ok so its basically the same thing
in pf2e you also specify what'll trigger the action, but the explanation for how the action works is way shorter

Bringing the holy light of Desna to this dark place i see
Why would a Barbarian delay their rage? That just leaves them open to damage.
barbarians can rage as a free action when rolling initiative
delaying means other classes can assist on doing even more damage (casters can buff the barbarian, debuff enemies, etc)
the whole point of playing barbarian (or any other tank class) is to be the easiest to damage (but also hardest to kill), so being "open to damage" doesn't really mean anything
actually, they'll be less open to damage since the enemies would need to waste actions to get close while the barbarian will be sitting still and will be able to use more useful actions and hit enemies instead of basically wasting actions by walking forward
