History will not judge him kindly. He oversaw a hiatus on his country's march to fascism but ultimately chose upholding the status quo over real change that would actually have stopped it
I’m not convinced that history will care given that we are headed towards extinction.
Nah, there will be a few million humans that eek out survival on the tropical Antarctic archipelago.
Who will go to form a new civilization and have absolutely no clue as to who the hell we were because we so creatively and ignorantly destroyed everything about ourselves.
And those descendents will probably go on to just repeat all the mistakes we're making now.
Gonna be hard for them to repeat the exact mistakes now that we've blown through all the easy to access coal and oil. It might not be possible to get industrialization off the ground a second time
England basically deforested their entire island to burn wood before the industrial revolution. Without easy to access coal or oil, I imagine those future generations will burn all the trees everywhere to maintain their development.
They will burn the plastic, duh
not that it matters a whole lot, given the context of this discussion, but it's *eke
Autocorrect didn't think that was a real word.
If Earth is lucky. We’re unfortunately a very hardy species.
What status quo are you saying he chose to uphold?
What garbage policy didn't he uphold?
I’m not saying he didn’t uphold policy.
I hope all those "vote blue no matter who" people are proud. It's such a relief that Biden brought a stop to Trump and turned the country around.
I guess you're one of those people who think that once Trump has destroyed Western civilization, socialism will somehow magically emerge from the ashes. But that's not how these things work.
I mean, it kinda does, the problem is that's probably the most difficult, painful, blood-filled path to it
Well if people had done that instead of whining about "bLueMaGa" we wouldn't be dealing with an upcoming Drump presidency.
In all likelihood, with yet another loss, MAGA would have fallen apart and Trump would be a fading memory rn.
But no, now there's a chance voting either won't exist or won't matter in 4 years and we'll have to hear about el orango damn near everyday. Good job.
Optimistic for you to think Trump wouldn't just try again in 4 years.
Democrats were never going to meet this moment, they don't have what it takes.
Liberalism was always going to result in fascism. The Supreme Court was captured a long time ago. Social media is all right wing propaganda. They were ready to “Stop the Steal” again with violence.
At the rate Trump's declining he'll be a potato or dead in 4 years.
This idea that this was the last election for the Democrats too was a losing argument.
Thinking that the vote going the way you wanted would have just turned over a perfect world is lazy and unrealistic.
Trump would not be a fading memory and is a direct symptom of the "keep going with the status quo" ignoring the issues policies we have had.
A different performer would have taken his place and we would have to do it all again for people like you to pretend it would all be perfection as soon as we got the right centrist in to make everyone forget about their and the worlds issues.
People complaining about the issues they face aren't making them suddenly exist. People shutting up about your flaws don't make them stop existing either. It just makes you even more ignorant to them.
The shame is that there were not more people who voted that way.
America has one party, the democrats, and cancer, the republicans. It just metastasized. One party rule sucks but it sucks less than cancer.
