Probably less relevant because this is about undergrads instead of postgrads. I did my masters degree there and I was one of maybe 3 Scottish students out of the 40+ person intake for my course.

Honestly I've never been so stressed out in my life! Lots of people who went to Oxbridge and had 1:1 tuition where they wrote an essay every week. Hard to compete when I'd done a joint major in the subject from Aberdeen. Generally, those people were friendly though.
