Southern Boobook (boobooks are the hawk-owls of Australia and Southeast Asia)
Tawny Frogmouth (not an owl, but sometimes mistaken for one due to its stocky build, coloration ,and nocturnal habits.

If you haven't gone to the Owl of the Year thread yet, the Oriental Bay Owl is one of my top choices for most alien bird.
