Small talk eh? Not my favourite size of talk, but…
Comme ci comme ça.
I feel I must maximize my outdoor activities in the summer to steel myself against the long dark winter. But then I wear myself out and my capacity for doing things declines, and the fomo still lurks in the periphery..
I found a cool ankylosaur scute and ate a few puffball mushrooms I picked this weekend though (first mushroom foray find I’ve been willing to eat), so I am still having some fun
I have only eaten mushrooms that I foraged once and it was when we found some random morels. They were... not bad. I do love me some mushrooms though.
Funnily enough I have hated mushrooms my whole life, I still don’t care for the typical variety you see in stores. I am willing to sample some other wild species, though, to see if some appeal.
But more than that I just started up a mushroom foraging hobby because I enjoy being in the woods, looking for/identifying things out in nature (birds, rocks, fossils, insects, etc) and hobby jumping.
Collecting hobbies/skills is a hobby of mine as well. What was it before foraging for you? I'm on learning Russian
