This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions from mod(s).
- Provide the cause of the sanction (e.g. the text of the comment).
- Provide the reason given by the mods for the sanction.
- Don't use private communications to prove your point. We can't verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don't deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don't harass mods or brigade comms. Don't word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin' in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

They definitely do allow the left to voice their opinions and some of the mods are more left, I can't speak for all of them as some of them are not as active in commenting as others.
Taking [email protected] as an example, I've noticed a concerning trend where far right posters are allowed to post blatant misinformation with little to no evidence to back it up.
Take this post for example. This one is an interesting example because any call outs even hinting with bias against the user who made the post is suspiciously removed almost immediately. Take a look at the top level comment that was removed and see what it actually says:
Since when is calling out lies, and with a source that is, eligible to be removed? Debated on, sure. But removed?
This isn't an isolated example based on what I've seen in that community.
EDIT: Another example of a removed comment concerning this user.:
I don't see any far right agenda here and the post & comment in question lacks context. I blocked all the news subs specifically because they've protected far left Tankie disinformation.
The post in itself was a propaganda piece by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) claiming their enemy is hiding their money stashes underneath a hospital. The supposed "evidence" was a CGI rendering of tunnels underneath the hospitals. It's worth noting that since this was in Lebanon independent journalists were able to quickly go to the hospital and confirm it was false, as they have with so many of the IDF's claims. The IDF has a documented history of propagating misinformation in an effort to justify their horrendous war crimes. They also have a documented history of imprisoning and killing journalists in an effort to silence them. One might as well be peddling propaganda pieces by North Korea on South Korean supposed human rights violations and presenting it as factual. This all is in blatant violation of the communities rule 3: "Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed."
The cherry on top is stuff like the screenshots I posted where any call outs are removed just because.
Whether true or not (I'm really not in the mood to read myself into it because of the tribalistic nature of the whole topic and its people on either side), I still don't see how that makes it far right propaganda / the protection of it? Nazis are inherently anti Israel (for hopefully obvious reasons), not pro Israel, and have been showing in this conflict to piggyback the pro Palestine stance to hurt Israel further.
Far right doesn't automatically mean Nazis, not sure why you brought them up. And a voice against Israel's actions is not a voice endorsing Nazis.
The hospital example above is important since Israel has repeatedly bombed hospitals, in direct violation of humanitarian law, citing evidence that has been debunked. There are no hospitals left in Gaza currently because of this.
