Calvin and Hobbes
Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.
Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. This is the first time I've seen Hobbes as a plushy.
Welcome to the Calvin & Hobbes universe! Hobbes is shown as a stuffed animal anytime a human other than Calvin is in the picture.
Correction: Any time a human other than Calvin has Hobbes in their field of view. In the comic where Hobbes attends a tea party with Susie (1986-05-31), there is one panel both she and Hobbes are looking at Calvin, and Hobbes is not depicted as a stuffed tiger.
Thanks for the correction! That's a nice bit of additional trivia which I wasn't aware of even though I've seen the tea party cartoon a thousand times. :)

This is why Calvin begins by taking Moe’s eyes.
I think Hobbes is only shown as true Tiger if the reader sees the world as Calvin sees it.
