you're only kidding yourself. the election doesn't give you points for process. it only gives you outcomes. and as things are right now in the US, there are two. you either contribute to outcome 1 or outcome 2. there is no other kind of action.

Can you explain why a vote for 3rd party is a vote for Trump, and not a vote for Harris? What makes it FOR Trump, and AGAINST Harris? Why isn't it for Harris and against Trump?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

you asked me this twice for some reason, but here you go: a third party vote is pointless in the US. has the same effect as not voting. and not voting means lower turnout, which has always benefitted the republican party.

that's why they suppress voters, or even plant third party candidates as they did with RFK. of course that turned out to hurt them because RFK being an absolutely insane person for some reason started cutting into the republican votes more than democrats. so they cut a deal and he fucked off of the race.

I can, it's because you're talking to a Harris supporter. If you were talking to a trump supporter it would be a vote for Harris. They both say it about each other and it's pretty funny.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

sure buddy, that's why republicans suppress the vote all the time... to help harris.

Electoralism is a dead end. Organize to destroy the current system don't prop it up.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago

Absolutely change the system. It's been a problem for a long time. However the current system is what we have for this election, so unless you know a magic way to use a different voting system for this election and not FPTP then there really are only two choices. If they both suck to you, then pick the one that has potential for change from public pressure, and by all means vote in more progressive choices if possible for the lower representation because that's where the real change can happen.

It would be great if the anti-FPTP rallying would last past the election. People seem to get so overwhelmed by the voting propaganda that once they cast their vote they want to forget about it for four years, and that's why we keep having these same discussions every time when it's too late to fix the problem.

call me when you do that. hurry though, unless you do it in less than a month we're back at outcome 1 vs outcome 2 and literally nothing else.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Or you can advocate and prop up neither outcome "1" or "2" and work towards "3" while keeping in mind both history and the unity of actions and goals.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

work fast. if you can't do it in less than a month, you're contributing to one of the two.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How do you decide which one of the two I'm contributing too?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't decide it; it's well documented. There's a reason it's always the republican party that works so hard to suppress votes as much as possible: The lower the turnout, the better it is for the republican party. therefore any vote that isn't cast is effectively a vote for the republicans. and thanks to the two party fptp, a vote for a third party is essentially a vote that isn't cast.

OK, so more bullshit then. Keep trying to suppress 3rd parties because of fear of your tribe losing and I'll keep exercising my right to vote however the fuck I want to.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

OK now I'm convinced you're bullshitting because there's no way you actually believe there's a snowball's chance in hell a 3rd part candidate could win.

that was a good chuckle though. yeah I'm suppressing 3rd parties. jesus
