People who drive with two hands make me nervous
It's weird, to me people who drive with one hand across the wheel whilst filming themselves make me think they're bellends.
Oh of course I’d never feel comfortable with that either.
Driving school teaches you so xd
You know neither I, nor anyone I know has actually been to a drivers school. Not super common where I grew up I guess.
Well in an emergency situation it is safer to have two hands on the wheel.
Absolutely. If anything but “normal” driving circumstances are happening I immediately have my other hand on the wheel just in case.
Why? I've never heard this before.
Most of the people I’ve been in the car with who drive with two hands aren’t very good drivers. This is easily just a weird case that the people I know personally who do that are just bad but it still causes me unease to this day.
Might be because they are driving 10 & 2 with a firm grip…
What you’re supposed to do is place your hands at 8 & 4 while never crossing the opposite hand over the airbag.
The way the driver has his hand in the image can cause some serious face damage if the airbag is deployed, especially considering he’s wearing a giant ass metal watch.

9 and 3 is correct. 8 and 4 for highway driving only really
Appreciate the perspective. I’m able to maneuver perfectly with 8 and 4 while racing my Miata. If I’m turning right: I reposition my right hand to 2 and pull with my right hand while keeping my left hand in place so that it stays in 8 position. Once my right hand gets back into the 4 position I start pushing the wheel with my left hand, keeping my right hand at 4. This actually gives you more control in your turn before your arm would cross the center of your steering wheel and minimize risk.
Another great thing about 8 and 4 is that it incentivizes the thumbs be placed either on the outside of the steering wheel or resting on the center controls. Many people who drive with 9 and 3 tuck their thumbs inside directly above the steering wheel controller. If you’re ever in an accident serious damage can occur if the thumbs are placed inside the steering wheel.
