Yeah, text and detail on a flag is just stupid. City logo sure, but if its entire purpose is to flap, Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Yup. I'm sure it's articulated better on various vexillology resources, but a flag should be identifiable to the illiterate, should be fairly easy for a child to draw, and should not require shit to be glued or sewn onto it to look right from the "back" (i.e. NO WRITING).

As you say, its purpose is to flap from its "hoist" side.
