This appears to be an advert dissed as an article. Also, I know my bike lights already emit light in all directions by making the shell transparent.

Okay, I'll bite. What makes it appear as an advert disguised as an article? Pray do tell.

  1. Most of the website area is dedicated to photos of a finished product, like you would expect from an ecommerce site.
  2. Most of the text just sells the product, instead of explaining reasoning like how this is safer.
  3. The camera on the light has nothing to do with visibility.

The camera is a bonus IMHO. So many close calls of drivers texting, on the phone, not paying attention or just having the blank stare that I would like to save and share.

I agree with you about the utility of the camera, it's just not what I wanted to hear about when the article title suggests the article is about designing bike light for visibility.
