Well, since Threads users can now see replies to their posts from Fediverse users AND they're public, I think it's as good a time as any to ask this again.

Have you blocked Threads?

This is for single users. If you're an admin that has blocked it for your entire instance, it's okay to answer as well, but I would like any users of those instances to also answer yes and for those that do not agree with that decision reply below with your thoughts, please!

Thanks!

PS. This is not a debate. I'm not looking for reasons why Threads should be blocked. Those types of replies will be completely ignored. We all know the pros and cons by now.

@[email protected] Nah, maybe some of my friends who are too hesitant to use Mastodon will use Threads, so I’ll be able to interact with them in my own space. πŸ˜…

(Off topic: how’d you post to mastodon and lemmy at the same time? 😳)

@[email protected] well...I didn't...at least not on purpose.

Apparently Mbin, or at least fedia.io, uses hashtags to make posts in communities.

I added the hashtags and it went without my knowledge or intention.πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@[email protected] Ohh that’s interesting! I might check out Mbin. Just setup a PieFed account as well.

@[email protected] it's pretty neat!

The original creator seems like a decent enough person and from my point of view, looks like he's doing it in a very admirable way by not "holding the keys to the castle" for lack of a better term. Multiple people have merge control for PRs and such. It's pretty cool.

We had an unfortunate misunderstanding a few weeks ago, but I'd hope that we have corrected that and can leave it in the past and move on.
