Hard to fake emissions on an EV.
I think the implication is that VW is untrustworthy due to their previous actions.

Yea, people make assumptions all the time. But that headline is always a surprise for me.
VW really seemed to want to clean house with that. I’ve an ID.3 1st and honestly it’s possibly the best car I’ve ever owned (and I’ve had VWs, BMW, Alfa, Ford, International Harvester (I’m old) and that EV is really great for the money.
And then plot twist: the car has advanced technology that uses the EV battery to scrape the asphalt and convert it to diesel. After that it burns it at 9 mpg.
Unironically, EVs polluting would spur adoption. Can't 'roll coal' in a Prius.
