Authorities said Monday they are investigating a burglary at a Donald Trump campaign office in suburban Virginia, circulating surveillance video of a man inside the building with what appears to be a full backpack.

The break-in was reported late Sunday at the campaign office in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The building, in a suburban office park about 30 miles west of downtown Washington, also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.

“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Sheriff Mike Chapman said in the statement. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”

Well, the shooter was a right-winger doing crimes against his own wing. This could be similar in that way.

Has that been made conclusive? Last I heard, he was a registered Republican who also made a donation to a left-wing group.

He could've been someone on the political left who wanted to reduce Trump's chance at being the Republican candidate by registering as Republican to vote against him.

One old $15 donation doesn't cancel our all the rest of his life, including the political stance he displayed at school.

To be fair though, his goal with the shooting seems to have been more about getting attention than anything else.

This is news to me; that's why I asked about him. Last I'd read, they couldn't find anything about his political ideologies aside from his being a registered Republican and that one political donation. Guess I'll have to look him up again to see what's been discovered! Lol

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, his political affiliation still seems unclear.

His donation was made the same day that President Biden was sworn into office. According to the Progressive Turnout Project, he made the donation in response to an email about "tuning into" the inauguration; he was unsubscribed from the group's mailing list in 2022.

Aside from these details, it doesn't seem like there's anything new
