@kdenlive @kde oh god why would you do that to yourself. ASS is a format that needs to die, not become even more popular.

It's also silly to support the unspecified proprietary ASS format before supporting the actual industry standard for subtitles TTML/ISMC.

.ass is still one of the most human readable subtitle (alongside with .srt).

On other hand, .ttml is just a nightmare for casual fansubber.
At least, that is what happen in fansub culture in my country.

@techpengu @kdenlive @kde If you want human readable, use VTT. If you use ASS, that's usually to add pixel-perfect 3D animations.

Also, to author VTT, SRT and TTML easily you can use e.g. the free edition of Davinci Resolve.
