I am looking for a quick guide or crash course for kbin's microblog feature. I am looking for:

  • Do I follow mags? How?
  • Do I follow people? How?
  • My feed includes all sorts of items not just who and what I follow. Why?
  • When I post, where does it go? Who can see it?
  • Where do boosts go? I would think they would get posted to my feed when I boosts something.
  • and anything else because I don't know what I don't know.

Thanks!

I agree with everything that @Chozo said. The only that wasn't mentioned is that there's no way to follow hashtags that aren't linked to a magazine you follow. This seemed like an obvious functionality and it took me forever to figure out that there's no way to do it (unless I'm wrong someone please correct me).

My understanding is the only way to do it is to create a custom magazine for yourself that is associated with all the hashtags you want to follow, then subscribe to it. Which seems really convoluted to me.

You're correct, it's one of the things that's still in the future. I'm waiting somewhat impatiently for improved integration, because the way everything currently works for now makes it fairly easy to search by tag but frustrating if you ever wish to see anything by anyone you follow. I'd be stuck checking their profiles individually. And if you mean to follow tags instead of people, lol, lmao.

Yeah, that's the workaround for right now. I believe Ernest has said that eventually the microblogging section will be fleshed out, as it's kind of bare bones right now.
