Sometime around yesterday afternoon, I went to check my saved posts and noticed they were all weird. I cleared my cache and when I went to log back in, the site wouldn't load. I just figured the site was down for some reason so I tried again a couple hours later and it still wouldn't load. The lemmy.world status page said no downtime for the day. I checked from other devices in the house and it didn't work on any of them. I decided to try going through a VPN in case my IP somehow got blocked or something similar, and I was able to access through VPN (hence me being able to post now).

Any idea what might have happened? I don't spam the site with traffic or anything so if I was blocked I have no idea why.

This is embarrassing... I'm a sonic fan, I saw your avatar, and I didn't know if there was anything special I had to do to get a moving avatar like that so I tried to see if it was as simple as just uploading the gif file and clearly it works. But I don't post much so I didn't think anybody would see it and forgot to take it off.

Lol, no worries.

It takes webp, not gif. Look for what you want as a gif, convert it to webp, and upload it. :)
