This is my first try at creating a map of lemmy. I based it on the overlap of commentors that visited certain communities.

I only used communities that were on the top 35 active instances for the past month and limited the comments to go back to a maximum of August 1 2024 (sometimes shorter if I got an invalid response.)

I scaled it so it was based on percentage of comments made by a commentor in that community.

Stop Killing Games is an European Citizens Initiative aiming to keep games playable even after their developers and publishers have stopped supporting it.

Only two days ago Denmark passed its respective threshold (I reported) and just last night the Netherlands joined the club. Both countries did so after two weeks of virtually no movement in their numbers.

To get the initiative onto the EUs agenda so it has the chance to become EU law, it has to both reach 1 million signatures total and minimum thresholds in at least 7 countries. The Netherlands is the 6th country to pass the threshold. So who will be the 7th? Currently it looks like Ireland (69%) followed by Belgium (66%), France (64%) and Austria (62%). But as Poland has shown, things can change quickly.

All that has happened already, happened in only just over one month since the initiative started accepting signatures showing a remarkable momentum. So let's keep the momentum going. If you haven't already signed and are a citizen of the EU (even one abroad) consider signing the initiative.

Even if you are from a country that already reached the threshold you can still sign. Your signature counts to the 1 million goal.

Hello,

So far I have been using N26 and Revolut, which allow me to have Spanish IBANs.

Now I would like to open an account with a bank without fees, like OpenBank or BBVA online account. Mostly I plan to use the apps, so they would have to be good.

Do you have any advice and which banks I should absolutely avoid?

Ahora me gustaría abrir una cuenta en un banco sin comisiones, como OpenBank o BBVA online account. Sobre todo pienso usar las aplicaciones, así que tendrían que ser buenas.

We need taxes for all - also the super-rich.

"Tax the rich" is an official EU petition. The EU Parliament has to deal with it when successful.

Gross domestic product (GDP) is an indicator used to measure the size and performance of an economy. It provides information on the value of goods and services produced during a given period. Within the EU, GDP was valued at €17.0 trillion in 2023.

In 2023, slightly less than a quarter of the EU's GDP was generated by Germany (24.3%), followed by France (16.5%) and Italy (12.3%), ahead of Spain (8.6%) and the Netherlands (6.1%).

Stop Killing Games is an European Citizens Initiative aiming to keep games playable even after their developers and publishers have stopped supporting it.

Germany has hit the threshold sometime yesterday evening. France has also started to catch up. They are still below 50% but there growth over the last couple of days has been the biggest. Netherlands and Denmark are still in the low 90s.

The milestone comes on the eve of this years Gamescom in Cologne, Germany which is set to kick off today. SKG is not going to have an official presence there. (I've checked with the organisers) But if you are attending and want to help spread the word I'm happy to share official marketing material, either in the form of flyers or the files for flyers, so you can print your own. They come in both German and English. If you want some, send me a DM.

Most of the fruits and vegetables are Bioland certified, and most of them are from a local farm near Heidelberg. The melon and obviously the bananas are not from Germany.

The Bread is organic whole-grain spelt bread from a local bakery. The grains are probably also local.

The oat milk is from organic locally (Baden-Württemberg) sourced and produced oats.

This Meal is heavily subsidized by the government. Probably about half the price or something similar. (edit: 0,92€/100g for Students, 1,20€/100g for University Employees and 1,94€/100g for Guests)

Also I am very late to the party because I always forget about posting when delicious food is in front of me.
