Here we go again! Reporting to you the news of the Minecraft server! We gained some new members, new buildings and some great experience!

This update will be special! As we announce the first ever build event of the server the theme is Spooky Halloween ( What a big surprise ;) ). The event will start on Monday the 23.10.2023 and a portal will raise near spawn and send you to the building start area!

The prizes are going to be some item prizes, like good enchanted diamond armor, diamonds, netherite and other rewards will be announced at the end! You even get an entry prize for joining the event!

The rules and information for the event is nearby the event location.

Stats;

Here are some pictures of the week;

We've launced a public discord server at https://discord.gg/lemmyworld

The reason for why we choose discord is because it was easier to moderate and manage than other options. Besides we also had a discord-bot guru by the name of Rooki who created a neat bot that allowed us to connect/verify discord users to their Lemmy World account.

So if you are a moderator and you are looking for some extra hands to moderate your community, or if you need to contact anyone from the LW team, this is the most efficient way to do it!

Come have a look!

In this video he discusses how the United Kingdoms "Online Safety Act" would require tech companies to implement backdoors into their encryption algorithms in order to comply with requirements to do proactive scanning for illegal content.

I would really want to know how long twitter holds this shitshow of childish behaviour.

Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince posted a graph to both Threads and Twitter today (Cloudflare’s communications VP Daniella Vallurupalli confirmed it was him) showing what he says is Twitter’s DNS ranking from January to now. It’s, uh, not a great story! Twitter alternative Threads, meanwhile, has been growing explosively — it’s less than three million from the 100 million user mark. It debuted on Wednesday.

In the few short hours since I started using #Threads, #DuckDuckGo has already blocked over 200 data tracking attempts. These include things like "headphone status" and "screen density."

Trackers, trackers and ol' Zucc's roboface galore.

With few simple steps you can block a instance! It requires some config editing, but its more simpler than blocking them manually!

If you have any question please let me know ;)

I made a simple script for everyone! It can mass block unwanted communities! ( Like NSFW )

The script is somewhat finished, but i would require your contribution of unwanted communities ( like nsfw, racist, etc... )

Programming word chain

In here everyone can only say 1 line of code. The next User has to add something logical after that.

The Programming Langauge is Javascript. (and no minified js doesnt count!)

If a user created a function

The next user who wants to create something IN that function replies to the first user!

User1:

function doSomething(arg1) {

User2

console.log("Inside this function")

User3

}

Community Rules still apply!

Example:

User1: const apples = 50

User2: const trees = apples * 5

( Sort by "Old" )
